The Tigers show their stuff

Take me out to the ball game.
What a great day for to be at Comerica Park!
The Tigers won, 10th Inning, 4-3.
It threatened to rain all day, but ended up being sunny, hot & humid.
Love it!

Muggle Fandom

"Theaters sell out as fans swarm to see the sixth installment, which rings in $22.2 million in midnight ticket sales, shattering 'Dark Knight's' record."

Complete Gawker

Curiosity got the better of me and I couldn't resist showing up at the scene this morning.
A gas tanker exploded when it hit a bridge at 9 Mile on I-75 last night.
Here's the bridge that collapsed in the inferno.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Finally! It's been a long wait!
It was great and you should definitely go see it.
The books are better as J.K.Rowling is a writer to be reckoned with. Her words provide imagery no movie can depict and her clever wit is refreshing. She develops characters completely with depth of feeling and gives the reader the full experience of the character's life and motivations. The story development throughout the series leaves you constantly wanting more and wondering how it will all work itself out. She's a brilliant author and I admire her.
Overall, I didn't care as much for the ways in which the movie differed from the book, however, the movie, as usual did a fab job at depicting certain scenes and characters better than I imagined.

Here's a little encouragement for you:

What I fancied:
1. The destruction of the bridge
2. Depiction of Apparition
3. The beauty of the castle and Hogwart's in general
4. Ron: quidditch and the love potion & consequently the poisoning scene. They finally gave Ron the part he deserved and he carried it out masterfully!
5. Fred & George's joke shop!!
6. Lavendar Brown with "Wan, wan"
7. Katie Bell & the locket incident
8. Professor Slughorn's potion class
9. The depiction of memories and the pensive
10. Luna Lovegood: Hogwart's express scene & Christmas party and Luna in general!
11. Professor Snape: Alan Rickman plays him perfectly!! I particularly loved the scene where Snape reveals his identity to Harry.

What I wasn't keen on:
1. The change in getting Harry's opening setting
2. The addition of crisis at the Weasley burrow
3. Ginny's lack of sass and undeveloped character
4. The bad acting & development of Ginny & Harry's love story
5. No battle
6. No funeral
7. Lack of grieving/ bad acting of sorrow & general despair over loss of Dumbledore
8. Do not like the new Dumbledore. Michael Gambon has been a terrible Dumbledore in all of the movies and still is. I miss the 1st one we started off with. Here's to Richard Harris!
9. The deletion of Tonk's role
10. The deletion of Doby & Kreacher's roles

Another Fab Weekend

Mom & I had a great time on Sunday seeing one of the most beautiful parts of this great state. There's nothing like northern Michigan!
This is Point Betsie which is located between Franfort & Empire.
