Salzburg- Eastern Austria

A Munchner Birthday

I took a trip to Munich for my birthday weekend with some friends and enjoyed the Christmas market there.  It was also so nice to see some commercialization there.  You don't realize that you miss it until you've been away from it!  It was nice to see a lot of stores and the shopping hustle and bustle of the season.

In the picture below:
Wurst, Meaning Bratwurst
You're never more than a second away from 1 in Germany and they are amazing.  Nothing like a sausage in the states.....

Gluhwein is a hot, mulled wine, which you are also never more than a second away from......
I think it tastes like hot cough syrup.  I like wine, but not so fond of this.  People surround the Christmas markets all day and night at these stands.

Die Kleine Backstube, "The Small Bakery"
Very nice, Very nice!

The Munich Rathaus (City Hall) Glockenspiel (Clock Tower)

All of the animals are robotic.  It fits right in with the woodsy, outdoorsy, hunting theme that is common around here.

A trip to their Christmas Market of course!

Farmer John

So, in the middle of the city, I have come across 2 farms.  You're just walking along and there they are in the middle of the street surrounded by high rise housing.  Both of them are about 2 blocks away from me.  I hope these pictures show it.  And yes, they are still growing vegetables here!

If you look to the back of the picture, you'll see the tractor

Who are the people in your neighborhood?

Here they are! A new year, new school, new 5th grade class!

Our class won 2nd place in a bulletin board contest: Most Original!

First snowfall. It came down hard for an hour or so and then, it just ended.

The classroom is still a work in progress, but at least it's a bit more colorful now.

The following pictures are students from my room at the Harvest Fest Night our school put on. Our principal, Mrs. Erdmann, is pictured here with Kiana.
